Construction to alter traffic patterns on 27th Street at Lawrence Avenue

Kevin PowellCity, Construction, Municipal Services and Operations

Beginning Wednesday, April 8, street maintenance rehabilitation work will necessitate the closure of West 27th Street at Lawrence Avenue. Traffic on 27th Street is expected to return to normal on Friday, April 17.

Starting on Wednesday, 27th Street will be closed to traffic east of the Lawrence Avenue intersection. Lawrence Avenue northbound and southbound will remain open.

Traffic control will be in place, and suggested detours will be marked, utilizing West 31st Street to Iowa Street. Pedestrian detours will also be in place to facilitate ramp and sidewalk removal and replacements.

These closures will impact transit Route 7. For information on reroutes, visit LawrenceTransit.org, call 785-864-4644 or visit the Lawrence Transit Facebook page.

Updates will be provided as necessary. All project timelines are subject to change due to weather and other project-related delays. For more information on construction projects and traffic alterations in Lawrence, visit lawrenceks.org/construction.
