Contracted Street Maintenance to begin June 1

May 28, 2020

The City of Lawrence’s 2020 Contracted Street Maintenance Program is set to begin on June 1. The program will address several street maintenance projects throughout the city. These projects will start and conclude at different times throughout the summer, with the program’s completion date slated for October 30.

The 2020 Comprehensive Street Maintenance Program map, which can be found on the City’s website at lawrenceks.org/mso/street-maintenance, shows a complete list of street projects, including both contracted and internal maintenance projects.

Before each project starts, notices ― including approximate work timelines and project information ― will be mailed to property owners and occupants adjacent to work locations that may be directly affected by the construction.

All projects will have traffic control devices in place, and traffic may be impacted differently at each location. Motorists should expect delays in construction areas, especially during heavy traffic periods. For more information about construction within the City of Lawrence, including an interactive map of current road construction projects, visit lawrenceks.org/construction.

All timelines are subject to change, pending weather and other construction-related delays.
