Tai Chi for All provides improves health and quality of life for everyone

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Lifelong Recreation Division offers participants a simple movement fitness class.

Tai Chi for All brings basic and simple body movements that any participant can do to help improve overall health and quality of life. Participants may stand or sit throughout the class. The Arthritis Foundation of America, Centers for Disease Control and the Prevention and Administration on Aging each recommend this program as meeting standards for health programming. This class is open to participants 20 years-old and older.

Tai Chi for All is being held 11:15 a.m.-noon Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 19-28, at Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th St. Cost is $12 per person.

This program requires face coverings being worn at all times and are following COVID-19 safety guidelines, which can be found at https://assets.lawrenceks.org/lprd/covid/fitnessmartialarts.pdf.

Conditions will be continuously monitored and reviewed in consultation with public health professionals. Status updates will continue to be updated every Thursday to indicate the current risk level using green, yellow, orange or red based on the number of new cases, trends and percentage of positive COVID-19 test to mirror Lawrence-Douglas County Health’s recommendations being used for the Smart and Safe School Reopening Guidelines and Status for county schools.
