LPRD to host dance course dedicated to popular nightclub moves

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering a course to teach a variety of dance moves fit for a night out.

Night Club Dances teaches dances from both ends of the spectrum from the slow and graceful nightclub sway to the fast and smooth hustle. Participants will dance to pop, hip-hop, ballads and disco music in several one-hour sessions.

Night Club Dances is open to participants 15 years-old and older. The class will be held 6:50-7:50 p.m. Sundays, April 11-May 16 at Sports Pavilion Lawrence®. Cost is $30 per person. Partner enrollment is required.

This class requires face coverings to be worn at all times and follows COVID-19 safety guidelines, which can be found at https://assets.lawrenceks.org/lprd/covid/dance.pdf.

Conditions will be continuously monitored and reviewed in consultation with public health professionals. Status updates will continue to be updated every Thursday to indicate the current risk level using green, yellow, orange or red based on the number of new cases, trends and percentage of positive COVID-19 test to mirror Lawrence-Douglas County Health’s recommendations being used for the Smart and Safe School Reopening Guidelines and Status for county schools.
