PPNC hosting Nature’s Creations workshops for adults

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Prairie Park Nature Center is offering two workshops this May with its Nature’s Creations series featuring seasonal spring wreaths and pressed wildflowers.

In the first workshop, Spring Wreaths, crafters will make their own seasonal wreath to welcome the warmer weather with local wildflowers. It will be held 1:30-3 p.m. Thursday, May 20. Cost is $15 per person.

The second workshop, Pressed Wildflowers, will teach participants how to press wildflowers and make a framed creative arrangement. This workshop will be held 1-3 p.m. Thursday, May 27. Cost is $15 per person.

This class requires face coverings to be worn at all times and are following COVID-19 safety guidelines, which can be found at https://assets.lawrenceks.org/lprd/covid/centers.pdf.

Conditions will be continuously be monitored and reviewed in consultation with public health professionals. Status updates will continue to be updated every Thursday to indicate the current risk level using green, yellow, orange or red based on the number of new cases, trends and percentage of positive COVID-19 test to mirror Lawrence-Douglas County Health’s recommendations being used for the Smart and Safe School Reopening Guidelines and Status for county schools.
