At both meetings, Joe will share the concepts he’s developed based on feedback from various community representatives and then ask for public input about several critical features of the public art. The artwork he has designed has several opportunities for public input. This will be a great opportunity to understand Joe’s vision for the art and give your feedback. Joe gives engaging presentations and loves incorporating community input.
This public artwork was commissioned through the City of Lawrence Cultural Arts Commission (LCAC). After a competitive process that included a panel of City staff, police and community members, LCAC unanimously selected artist Joe O’Connell of Creative Machines Inc. for the project.
