Discover the ancient craft of basketry with LPRD workshop

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is holding a class in the art of basketry at Prairie Park Nature Center.

Reed Basketry invites those eight years-old and older to learn how to create a wicker basket from natural reed materials. All materials will be provided and participants will get to take home their handmade creations.

Reed Basketry will be held 1-3 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St. Cost is $18 per person. Children under 13 years-old must be accompanied by a registered adult.
