Become a modern-day ninja with LPRD’s camp this holiday season

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering a camp for kids to learn basic parkour skills and become a modern-day ninja.

Winter Break Ninja Camp invites children five years-old to 12 years-old to learn how ninjas move and speed through courses. Participants will improve upon and learn new skills, increase physical fitness, and build a positive self-image while conquering obstacles. Other activities may include volleyball, basketball, and soccer.

The first camp is held 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, Dec.21-24, at Sports Pavilion Lawrence®, 100 Rock Chalk Lane. Cost is $132. Additional camps are offered 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, Dec. 27-31 and Monday-Wednesday, Jan. 3-5. The cost of the five-day camp is $165, and the cost of the three-day camp is $99. Campers will need to provide their own lunch.

Face coverings are encouraged and appreciated for visitors to City facilities. As of Dec. 2, face coverings are only required for anyone who is unvaccinated, including City employees and members of the public, and anyone two years-old to 11 years-old.
