Conditions will be continued to be monitored and reviewed in consultation with our public health professionals. Status updates will continue to be to indicate the current risk level using green, yellow or red based on the number of new cases of positive COVID-19 tests and the 14-day moving average. Individuals may find the current status by visiting the department website, http://www.lprd.org.

The current code is RED.

Each category color lists specific guidelines for the type of activity that can be held at a location and any limitations that will be required during participation.  These recommendations may also change as more information about the pandemic is learned and how it affects the community.

LPRD facilities require face coverings to be worn at all times while not actively participating in a program or activity. Face coverings may also be removed when working out with weights and cardio equipment or walking the track. Masks must be worn while in the aquatic center; however, they may be removed when in the water.

Touchless temperature checks will continue to be available for all entering a facility. All facilities will use access cards for entry.

With the summer season upcoming, the department is looking for individuals to join its team. To see all positions available, especially temporary, seasonal positions for summer, please visit: https://lawrenceks.org/jobs.  Lifeguards and swim instructors are especially needed to staff the pools. Job openings will continue to be added, so check back often.

As the conditions surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) continue to change, the City wants to assure everyone that it is closely monitoring the latest information and will make necessary changes as warranted.  The health and safety of our community and employees will continue to be our top priority.
