Lawrence City Commission moving to hybrid meetings starting April 5

March 31, 2022

The Lawrence City Commission will begin holding hybrid meetings on Tuesday, April 5. This means that attendees can choose to attend in-person or virtually. City Commissioners will be in-person at City Hall. People may join the meeting virtually by Zoom or in-person. Some staff will be present in the room while others will participate virtually. Virtual participation will continue to be allowed for any participant, including staff and members of the public.

The City Commission meeting room layout is adapted to accommodate hybrid City Commission meetings. Chairs can be distanced and the City Hall lobby will also be set up for a limited number of members of the public to view meetings in person.

For those who choose to attend in-person, if the Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health Community Transmission Indicator is green, masks will be optional and if the indicator is in yellow, masks will be strongly encouraged.

People who want to provide public comment may continue to do so virtually or by attending the meeting in-person.

Staff is working to make adjustments for other city boards and commissions to move to a hybrid format in the coming weeks.

City Commission meeting agendas can be found here.
