Kick off the summer with Tae Kwon Do martial arts course

May 4, 2022

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting registrations for summer Tae Kwon Do programs for children and adults.

Tae Kwon Do is a Korean form of martial arts concentrated on punching and kicking techniques. This course will help participants develop control, balance and power through the practice of Tae Kwon Do form and one-step sparring. With improved coordination and reflexes, increased self-confidence, self-discipline and physical conditioning, students gain a greater respect for themselves, fellow students and society as a whole.

Tae Kwon Do is available in two sessions. The first session, for participants eight years-old to twelve years-old, is offered 6:30-7:25 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 7-Aug. 25. Cost is $91 per child. The second session is available for participants 13 years-old and older and is offered 7:30-8:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 7-Aug. 25. Cost is $108 per person. Both sessions will be held at East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.
