City of Lawrence issuing 2022 community survey

May 18, 2022

Starting this week, some Lawrence residents will begin receiving invitations to participate in a community survey asking for their feedback on City programs and services. The survey is being administered by ETC Institute, one of the nation’s leading firms in the field of local government research.

Residents randomly selected to participate in this survey will receive an invitation and instructional letter in the mail along with the survey. If you receive an invitation to participate, we ask that you to please take the time to complete every question. Your input is invaluable and the time invested in this survey will influence decisions made about the future of the City of Lawrence.

All survey data will be compiled and analyzed by ETC Institute. They will present the results to the City later this summer, and results will also be made available on the City website. All individual responses to the survey will remain confidential.

At this time, only those who were randomly selected and received an invitation will be able to respond to the survey. This is to ensure we hear from a diverse range of residents and so the survey data will be statistically viable.

This community survey is an important part of the City’s strategic plan and will influence budget decisions. The City Commission received information about the 2022 Community Survey on April 12, 2022, which is linked here. The City of Lawrence previously issued community surveys in 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019. More information and results from those surveys are available on our website: lawrenceks.org/cmo/citizen_survey.
