Homeschooled students to get fieldtrip opportunities with nature center program

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Prairie Park Nature Center is offering a series of fieldtrip programs for homeschooled students to engage with nature.

Exploring Nature for Homeschooled Students is open to children ages six years-old to 13 years-old and allows students to join Prairie Park Nature Center for unique field trips. The trips combine live animal programs with outdoor field investigations. A different topic will be presented each class.

The first fieldtrip will be held 10 a.m.– noon. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St. Additional fieldtrips will be held every other Wednesday throughout the fall. Cost is $10 per student, per trip.
