Begin the journey to game design with new youth coding camp

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with Code Ninjas is offering a new camp to teach kids about game design and programming.

Adventure in Game Design gives youth seven years-old to 14 years-old a hands-on look at the world of game design. This course will introduce participants to a variety of programming concepts while they create games inspired by Breakout, Snake, Flappy Bird and more using a kid-friendly programming language called Scratch.

The six-session camp is held 5:30-7 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 12-Oct. 17, at Sports Pavilion Lawrence®, 100 Rock Chalk Lane. Cost is $259 per child. This camp is not eligible for the scholarship program.
