The Lawrence community is invited to attend discovery session presentations for the City Fleet Analysis process which will help us develop a plan for combatting transportation emissions and improving the environmental performance of the City’s vehicle fleet.
On February 8, 2023, representatives from Metropolitan Energy Center (MEC) and Energetics Inc. will offer their Fleet Analysis discovery presentation during the Sustainability Advisory Board meeting which begins at 5:30 p.m. in the City Commission Room at City Hall, 6 East 6th Street.
The following day, February 9, 2023 at 5:30 p.m., MEC and Energetics Inc. will offer an online discovery session via Zoom for those who wish to learn more about the plan and offer their feedback. The link and login information for the meeting are available below.
In March 2020, the city commission adopted ordinance no. 9744 which set goals for the City’s adoption of renewable energy sources. With these goals in mind, Metropolitan Energy Center (MEC) in partnership with Energetics Inc. is providing a comprehensive evaluation to transition the city’s vehicle and equipment fleet to renewable and alternative energies. MEC conducts fleet analyses through their Mid-America Green Fleets Program with the goal of improving the environmental performance of government vehicle fleets across the region. Energetics is a clean energy consultancy that works collaboratively with state and local entities to help strategize and integrate cost-effective clean energy technologies into municipal operations.
