11th St. and southbound Haskell Ave. closed for street maintenance

On Monday, March 20, City contractors closed westbound 11th St. from the railroad tracks to Haskell Ave., eastbound 11th St. from Delaware St. to Haskell Ave., and southbound Haskell Ave. from 11th St. to 12th St. to begin street maintenance work on the concrete streets in the 11th St. and Haskell Ave. area.

Northbound Haskell Ave. will remain open to through traffic traveling to eastbound 11th St. and westbound 11th St. Detour routes will be available at 11th St. & Connecticut St., 15th & Connecticut St., and at E 1625 Rd. & N 1500 Rd.

The City anticipates this closure to last for several weeks, pending weather delays or impacts. Additionally, to complete the project, the City anticipates a point in which traffic control will switch so that the pavement in the westbound portion of 11th St. west of Haskell Ave. can be repaired.

Evergy to close eastbound 6th St. for electrical infrastructure maintenance

Beginning Monday,  March 27, crews from Evergy will close both eastbound lanes of 6th St. between Folks Rd. and Monterrey Way to complete work on the electrical infrastructure in that area. Eastbound through traffic will be shifted into the center turn lane of 6th St. during this construction.

Evergy anticipates the closure will remain in place until late evening on Wednesday, March 29.

Sidewalk Improvement Program work around 11th St. and MississippiBeginning Monday, March 20, City contractors will have various traffic control patterns in place within the 11th and Mississippi St. area to finish sidewalk repairs. This project is a part of the City Sidewalk Improvement Program. Through traffic will be directed by crew members with flags.

The City anticipates the construction to end on Friday, March 24, 2023.
