The City of Lawrence is breaking out the spring flowers to beautify Lawrence’s parks and public areas — and we’re looking for volunteers to assist in the planting. Businesses, teams and other organizations may use it as a great civic team-building project. Individuals are also encouraged to volunteer.
Volunteers 16-years-old and older are needed at the following locations and times:
- 8-11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, Lawrence Union Pacific Depot, 402 N. Second St.
- 8-11 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, Downtown Lawrence
- 8-11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, Downtown Lawrence
- 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, Vermont Street Butterfly Garden and Library Reading Garden, 701 Vermont St.
Volunteers may sign up for multiple days if they choose. Locations for meeting the day of volunteering will be provided once participants have signed up. Volunteer opportunities will close as the number of volunteers needed for each day are reached.
