Parks and Recreation Director Derek Rogers announced today the members of the Parks, Recreation, Arts and Culture Comprehensive Plan steering committee.
The Parks, Recreation, Arts and Culture Comprehensive Plan will focus on the Unmistakable Identity outcome of the City’s strategic plan and formally integrate arts, culture, parks and recreation into one department.
The Steering Committee for the Parks, Recreation, Arts and Culture Comprehensive Plan will be the keystone group that will work with the consulting team and city staff throughout the development of the plan. In addition to individual time spent on research and promoting community engagement opportunities, the steering committee will meet for two-to-three hours each month for six-to-eight months to provide input, background, support and direction on the key elements of the plan.
“I’m grateful to all the community members who applied to serve on the steering committee,” said Rogers. “Out of 41 applicants, we ultimately have a diverse group of thirteen dedicated people who will work with the consultant, staff and other community members to help us create a plan that will guide the newly developed department through the next 10 years.”
The steering committee members are:
- Kim Anspach
- Austin Bogina
- Jessica Burghart
- Mary Doveton
- Rochelle Freed
- Francesca (Frankie) Haynes
