The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department and Native Lands Restoration Collaborative will be working together to remove overgrown sumac and other aggressive woody plants from Prairie Park at the end of July and throughout August.

Courtney Masterson, executive director of Native Lands Restoration Collaborative, will be coordinating community volunteers to remove smooth sumac and other aggressive woody plants from the remnant prairie area of Prairie Park.

  • August 3, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. – cancelled due to wet weather
