City to host open house for Brick Streets and Sidewalk Policy development & values discussion

March 29, 2024

The City of Lawrence invites the public to attend an Open House focused on collecting community values and feedback when considering brick streets and brick sidewalks.

The Multimodal Transportation Commission voted to create a Brick Streets and Sidewalks Subcommittee to guide the policy development process with support from City staff. This committee is in the early stages of discussion and would like to start this policy development process by collecting community feedback.

Ultimately, the policy will guide how and where the City will preserve and maintain brick streets and sidewalks and consider standards for reconstruction of brick streets and sidewalks. The information collected at the open house and subsequent survey will be used to inform the decision-making process when the policy is drafted. More information on this project can be found here.
