The Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is releasing draft targets for the 2025 safety measures. Safety measures include: the number of fatalities and serious injuries, rate of fatalities and serious injuries per 100 million VMT, and the number of non-motorized fatalities & serious injuries.
The 15-day public comment period for these draft targets starts on October 8, 2024 and will end on October 23, 2024.
These targets will come before the Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Policy Board for approval on November 21, 2024. Following MPO Policy Board approval these targets will be incorporated into Transportation 2050.
