Start swinging: Summer camp to focus on golf terms and concepts

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Eagle Bend Golf Course and Learning Center is offering children an opportunity to develop golf skills, as well as have fun in its Start Swinging Summer Golf Camp at Eagle Bend Golf Course, 1250 E. 902 Road.

Start Swinging Summer Golf Camp provides children an introduction to the terminology and concepts in golf. Golf fundamentals such as putting, chipping, pitching and full swings will be covered. The camp is open to children in two age groups: beginning six-year-olds to 10-year-olds and advanced 11-year-olds to 14-year-olds.

Camp is offered for beginners 10-10:45 a.m. Wednesday-Thursday the following weeks: June 5-6, June 19-20; June 26-27, July 10-11 and July 17-18. The cost is $40 per child, per week.

Advanced camp is offered 11:15 a.m.-noon Wednesday-Thursday the following weeks: June 5-6, June 19-20; June 26-27, July 10-11 and July 17-18. The cost is $40 per child, per week.
