Welcome to Parking Services! We’re committed to assisting over 1 million yearly visitors’ parking needs as well as cleaning and maintaining our downtown shared space.

Enforcement

Downtown parking is enforced Monday through Saturday from 9:30 am to 6 pm. Parking at HERE apartments is enforced from 8 am to 6 pm on the same days.

Parking is free on Sundays and on city holidays.

Accessibility

Accessible parking can be found throughout downtown Lawrence. Vehicles with a handicap placard can park anywhere downtown at no charge.

Meter rates

Metered parking can be purchased with nickels, dimes and quarters at these rates:

Garage rates

Our garages are located on 935 New Hampshire St, 725 VERMONT ST, and at 1 Riverfront Plz. (east of City Hall). Parking payments can be made with any kiosk located within each garage, with a mobile app or bought via permit.

Permits

Permits make parking downtown simpler and cheaper, especially for downtown employees and residents! permits can be purchased annually for $240 or quarterly for $60 per quarter, though downtown employees are eligible for $75 annual permits for Lot 16. Purchase parking permits online.

Permit parking is available in each garage, at any 10-hour meter and in other select locations To view these spaces, view the parking map.

Mobile Pay

Parking can also be purchased online! To begin a parking session with either Passport or ParkMobile, simply enter the zone number on the stickers posted on the meters at teach parking space (or the zone signs posted on the side streets or streets parallel to Massachusetts). Then select the amount of time needed and touch the "Start Parking" button to begin the session.

Note: Mobile pay does contain fees. Passport charges $0.35 per transactions and ParkMobile charges $0.45 per transaction.

Online payments (Preferred Method)

Citations can be paid online.

Note: Citations can only be paid online within 10 days of issuance. After 10 days, a late fee is added and the citation must be resolved with Municipal Court.

In-person payments

To pay citations in-person, visit Lawrence Municipal Court at 1 Riverfront Plaza, St. 310, Lawrence, KS 66044 on weekdays from 8am-5pm.

Mail payments

If you pay citations through the mail, include the ticket with the payment, specifically a check payable to the City of Lawrence. Do not mail cash. Mail the payment(s) and ticket(s) to this address:

Payment drop box

Several drop boxes are available downtown to drop payments in as well. Drop boxes are located at the corner of 6th and New Hampshire St, and mid-block on the west side of 700, 900, and 1100 blocks of Massachusetts St.
