SPRING NATIVE PLANT SALE

Attract butterflies, pollinators, birds and more to your garden by adding native plants. Going native not only adds beauty to your garden, but also has positive impacts on soil, water and air quality. Not sure where to start? Prairie Park Nature Center’s Naturalist will be available to answer your questions. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted. Unsold plants will be available for sale throughout the week. GRANDPARENT’S NATURE FUN DAY
10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 2, at Prairie Park Nature Center
Ages: Grandparents & their Grandkids. Enrollment Min 5/ Max 25. Drop in at the nature center to celebrate Grandparent’s Day and meet a live animal, create some fun nature crafts, and go on a scavenger hunt. Cost to join for all activities is $3 for one grandparent and one child, and an additional $1 for every additional family member. Preregistration is not required. Children under 14 years-old must be with an adult. There will also be a free program held at 10 a.m.
SAVING THE MAGNIFICENT MONARCH – SUPPORT MONARCH CONSERVATION
1-4 p.m. Sundays, Sept. 17, and Sept. 24, at Prairie Park Nature Center
Ages: All. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Get involved in monarch butterfly conservation at the Nature Center. Learn about monarch migration, conservation troubles and how you can help. Catch, tag and release monarchs back into the wild. Butterfly nets will be available at the Nature Center. Before you go home, don’t forget to buy some monarch friendly plant seeds to help grow your own monarch sanctuary. All seed sales go to monarch conservation efforts. Preregistration is not required. All you can tag for $3.
