Skatepark Rules & Regulations

Due to the ongoing winter storm, City facilities, including City Hall and all Parks, Recreation and Culture facilities, will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 18. This is due to the forecasted winter storm resulting in dangerous travel conditions.

Here is a list of Rules and Regulations for our skateparks, along with a few Safety Guidelines to help make your visit to a Lawrence skatepark enjoyable.

SKATEPARK HOURS 6 A.M. – 10:45 P.M.
Rules & Regulations

  • All Users Should Wear Helmets, Knee Pads, Elbow Pads and Other Safety Equipment to Minimize Injury
  • Those under 16 years-old must wear a helmet – (City Code 17-706)
  • This is an alcohol, graffiti, tobacco and drug-free zone
  • Unsupervised area – Participate at own risk
  • Those 7 years-old and under must be accompanied by an adult
  • Know your limits and abilities, use caution to avoid injury
  • Help keep the area clean, please throw away all trash
  • Unauthorized ramps not permitted
  • Have fun, be safe and respect fellow skaters.

  • LPRD may reserve a skatepark for lessons or events

Safety Guidelines

  • Know your abilities and skate at your own risk
  • Wear safety equipment
  • Do not proceed down ramps until clear of other skaters
  • Skate with traffic on course
  • Weather conditions will affect ramps and surface conditions
