The Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) is a federally required document that describes how the federal planning funds allocated to the Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will be used and what planning activities the MPO staff and consultants will undertake next year. The UPWP is developed by the MPO staff with input from local governments, area transit providers, and the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT). A new UPWP is produced each year. In addition to describing what work will be done by the MPO and its staff this year the UPWP document also describes the previous year’s accomplishments.
